Chatting and connecting with the people on various public groups on Kik can be annoying if you’re facing some problems.
With some of these challenges, you may have a problem joining groups or the public group features may not be functioning well, and you can’t be part of the Kik communities you love.
This issue doesn’t bother you, right? Don’t worry, this guide will look at the cause of this problem and ways to fix it so you can keep chatting with your groups without any disruptions.
Can’t Create or Join Any Groups – Kik Public Groups Not Working Issue – Fix
While you can join Kik groups with no problems in the app, there may be times that you simply don’t know what to do if you can’t join them.
Especially in such situations understanding the reasons behind this issue is important to find the right solution.
Common reasons for these reasons include backward app version, account banned, related Kik server issues, invalid or deleted group links, and corrupt app cache.
Note: Settings on smartphones don’t follow the same guidelines since you do not have the same features as you wouldn’t on a PC. So make sure you have adjusted any settings on your device correctly before making any changes. We performed the steps on the OnePlus Nord CE.
Note: You can only join two Kik groups every week. Within a week, you can join more than that, so it can risk the ban of your account on Kik.
Method 1: Use the Correct Link
If you can’t join Kik groups, it could be because the links we provided you aren’t working or the links we sent you were deleted.
For that reason always make sure that the URL that u will use to join a Kik chat room is active and correct.
Method 2: Contact Group’s Creator
There is surely a likelihood that the group you want to join is private.
Public groups can be joined by anyone simply because, but you must be invited to join a private group or you can create one yourself. Therefore, ask them for an invite and get access to the member’s private group.
Method 3: Clear Cache
The cache is the temporary data that the app stores to save time performing processes, however after a while it can be corrupted or broken, causing many faults. Here’s how to clear them out:
- Go to Open Settings, tap on Apps, and then Apps Management.
- Go to KiK, select Storage, and tap on Clear cache.
Method 4: Update Kik App
Sometimes, your Kik app version might be outdated, which can often lead to problems. If you couldn’t join Kik groups, I would change the Kik app and see if it works.
Method 5: Create a New Account
If your account has permanent restrictions or bans then you can create a new Kik account to be able to take part in the features of the platform.
Method 6: Contact Kik Support
However, if none of these works for you then you have to report it to Kik by sending them a support request on the Kik website to have a perfect solution to your problem.
This is really why my Kik public group is not coming up in the search results.
One of the reasons why your Kik public group might not show up in the search list is that you’re either banned or left the group improperly.
Plus, the group settings might be set for only private, or something like community guidelines must be obeyed for the group to appear in the search results.
How can I Join a Kik Group the Easiest way?
Joining a group on Kik is very easy and can be done through several simple methods such as:
- Scanning the group’s Kik Code
- Clicking on a group link
- The invitation by another member.
- By name search and joining the Public Group
Kik Private Group: How to Watch who is in a Kik Group
Unfortunately, right now, you can’t make a Public group a private group.
From your existing public group, you can rather create a new private group and invite the people you’d like to chat with.
Likewise, if you’re going to pivot over from a Private Group to a Public Group, you’ll need to first make a Public Group, and then invite people into it from your Private Group.
Hopefully, our guide helped you solve the issue when the Kik group not working.
Check though, the reinstall of the Kik app might help if you fix glitches or compatibility issues.
