Many times we want to capture and store important conversations, and the recordings are becoming more valuable than ever.
Most smartphones come with a built-in call recording feature but what if you need a call you didn’t record or save? If I can get an unrecorded call recording and if so how can I do it?
And in today’s blog, we’ll go over a few tricks for that as well.
You can Listen to past Call Conversations without Recording.
It used to be well, no, once a call has ended, and irrespective of whether or not it was recorded, there’s basically no way to get the conversation back. You can only see and recover your phone call history when you backed up your account earlier.
Call logging, for example — in which you could see call duration, time, and date — but not the conversation, is a feature some service providers offer.
However, there are some ways you can access old recordings and preserve them for future reference:
Method 1: Use Call Recording Apps
There are plenty of call-recording apps available across both Android and iOS platforms that will make recording phone calls very easy.
Most of these apps also provide great-quality auto call recording, which if enabled, can be useful when you forget to hit the record button.
So here we have mentioned a step for a Cube ACR app that’s a simple but effective one.
- Download and start your app on your device.
- To give access to the needed settings, click GRANT PERMISSIONS.
- To start and stop the call recording tap on the mic icon located on the home page now. The recordings are available on the same page.
Method 2: Built-In Auto Call Recording
They also have an auto call recorder built into many devices and this also works in case you want to completely avoid third-party apps or if you are worried about your privacy or want little chance to never record your call recordings ever again.
Note: Unfortunately, since there are no such Settings options on smartphones, there are differences from manufacturer to manufacturer. Therefore, please go ahead and change the settings correctly on your device. This was performed on the Samsung S20 FE 5G (Android 13 One UI 5.1), as shown in the image above and below.
- From settings, tap on apps and then on Samsung app settings.
- Then navigate to Call settings, then Record calls.
- Turn on On and under Auto record calls tap on Auto record calls then All calls.
Method 3: Use Voicemail
It’s also possible to use your voicemail service as an alternative. There are multiple options when it comes to setting up a voicemail system on an Android device, but it’s an easy process.
They can use the voicemail service the carrier provides, use Google Voice, or另一种选择是使用第三方应用,提供了相似的语音收件箱功能。
For a detailed explanation refer to our guide about Ways to Set Up Voicemail on Android.
Method 4: Use a Second Device
You can save the call on a second device. It may be another phone or tablet, or as simple as a dedicated recording device.
On the same device initiate the call with the person you want to record, turn on the loudspeaker, and use the other device to record the conversation.
Method 5: Use Cloud Storage
Save your recordings securely in cloud storage, like Google Drive, Dropbox, or something else — free up space on your device.
In addition, you receive a copy of a recorded phone call in this method. You should also ensure that you encrypt your recordings before you upload them to the cloud to be sure that they’re secure.
How to get a call recording of any number
Record calls from your built-in dialer or third-party dialer apps.
However, not all dialers, nor carrier services support this feature.
Note: If you start the call recording on Google Dialer (Phone app), the person on the other side of the call will also recognize it.
Listen to Someone Else’s Calls without Knowing it.
You can’t listen to someone’s phone calls without them knowing. Additionally, breaches their privacy right and incurs serious legal consequences. You respect people’s privacy and do not attempt to eavesdrop on their conversations.
But, why would you want to listen in on someone’s conversations? For example, perhaps parents would like to check that their child has not been speaking to someone who can badly affect them. That said, you can use many third-party apps such as Spyic, mSpy, or Automatic Call Recorder to do the same.
How Long Does a Phone Company Store You Call Records?
Telecommunications companies hold call records for billing and for operational and legal purposes or in response to a law enforcement request.
Call records are usually held by phone companies for a limited time frame, from a few months up to even a year. The duration, however, varies from one company based on their policies and moving locally, as it depends on local regulations.
Are Police Able to Twist the Arm and Pull Up Old Phone Conversations?
That’s right, law enforcement agencies like police, sometimes can get phone call access for a criminal investigation with the help of a court order or warrant. This is normally the process in that you have to go to a judge or magistrate get permission on probable cause and follow formal legal procedure.
Even though you might want to get any number’s call recording it’s best that you think of the privacy and legal compliance.
